A surprising fact about me:
In 1971, George Harrison and I sat alone in his house in London and, for the first time, for either of us, listened to a pre-release test pressing of John Lennon’s “Imagine” album.
When I’m not at work, I’m most likely to be:
Spending time with my wife in an effort to make up for all the time I spend working, or worse, all the time I spend sailing, which I’m also likely to be doing when I’m not working.!
What I originally thought I’d be when I grew up:
An actor, dancer, singer on Broadway
Robin comes to our industry after 20 successful years in the entertainment business. Inspired by Woodstock, he produced New Jersey’s largest outdoor music festival. In 1971, his artist management company signed a band to Apple Records, making them the first American group to record in the Beatles’ Saville Row studio in London. During the mid-seventies Robin produced records, concerts, and managed recording artists on the east coast. He was music consultant for the first Rocky and then music supervisor and executive album producer for Rocky III and Rocky IV. He was senior VP of music for film and TV at the Walt Disney Co. and then president & COO of Sylvester Stallone’s White Eagle/MGM Films.
While looking for an alternative to early retirement, he discovered the promotional marketing industry quite by accident. While attending an electronics show in 1989 he was handed a unique badge giveaway item that he felt would be great for entertainment marketing. He immediately acquired patent and marketing rights and started a promotional product manufacturing company. Within the first 8 months, his company, Creative Imaging, sold a $2.3 million order for McDonald’s McLean Deluxe Hamburger promotion. After 7 years, Robin sold his company, jumped the fence from manufacturer to distributor sales and became a senior account executive with Idea Man Inc. He recently joined our MadeToOrder team as a sales partner / senior account executive.
